Welcome to Plainville Pack 46
The Cub Master's Corner by Mr. Bannon
Quick Hits...
Good Grief, this is only the second time I have written a Cub Master Corner this year!  Where did all the
time go?

Well we made it through the first month of school and I thought the skits went really well, ok we leaders
have some work to do, but we will be back.

We have our Tiger Den all setup and ready to roll, thanks to Chris Montgomery for stepping up to be the
Den leader.  Sue Sorel and the tigers did a great job with the Bubble Gum Skit.

We have a bunch of stuff going on this month.

Pack 46 Planning Meeting

Once a month the leaders try to get together to figure out what needs to be done for the next month and
what new things we would like to do with the boys.  Karen Kmetz and I would like to open this meeting
up to all parents in Pack 46.  Normally the meetings are at my house, 15 Cliff Dr, on one of the first
Fridays of the month.  Our October meeting is scheduled for Friday the 16, conflicting with the Yard Sale
setup, see below.  So this months meeting will be at the Old Wood School.  If you would like to hear
what we are talking about, make a suggestion for something to do, or get more involved, this will be a
good place to start.  I have the first 3 meetings posted on the web site calendar, have a look and please
stop by.

Pack Meeting

Our October Pack Meeting will be on Friday Oct 30.  This is an OUTDOORS meeting held at the Eagle
Scout Camp on George St.  If you are coming from the PAL fields the parking lot is on the left just before
Cowell St.  We have a camp fire, bob for apples (yes they will get wet) and play some other games.
Start time is 7:00 PM.  This will be a class 2 uniform night, so just the tee shirts, no neckerchiefs or
slides, looking for a slide in the dark is no fun.

Yard Sale

Melanie Powley jpowley1@comcast.net and Karen Kmetz karenkmetz@yahoo.com are working hard
on getting the yard sale organized.  Melanie will be sending out more detail about what she needs help
with.  For now I just want to get the dates out there so you know what is coming.  If you know of people
who would like to donate but can’t get the stuff to the Old Wood School please let us know and we will
try to arrange a pick up time.

The dates for the donation drop off are as follows:

              Wed      Oct 7      5:00 – 700
              Fri           Oct 9      5:00 – 7:00
              Sat          Oct 10   9:00 – 12:00
              Sun        Oct 11   11:00 – 2:00
              Wed      Oct 14    5:00 – 7:00
Fri           Oct 16   5:00 – 9:00           (Final setup before yard sale)
              Sat          Oct 17   8:00 – 4:00           (Yard Sale)
              Sun        Oct 18   9:00 – 12:00        (Raffle will be picked at 11:00)

Popcorn Sales

I hope everyone is working on their sheets.  Sorry about the mix up for the first two weekends, Lowes
double booked by mistake.  We have managed to get 4 new dates, so if you can sell a little please
send a note to me Brendan@intersys.com or Renee Wassersug at wassersug@verizon.net
The new dates are:

Saturday, October 17 from 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM at Lowes
Saturday, October 18 from 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM at Lowes
Saturday, October 24 from 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM at Stop and Shop
Saturday, October 25 from 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM at Stop and Shop

I handed in the first full popcorn sheet from our pack yesterday, so now I am not the only marshmallow
gun slinger in Plainville.  As soon as you fill up a sheet please get me a copy so I can get you your
blaster and get you into the drawings for the big prizes.  I have popcorn in my garage so if you are
planning a walk around the neighborhood you can get the popcorn first so you can sell and deliver all at
once.
Rocket Nights are coming up
fast - the last Wednesday of
each summer month. Camp
outs, cookouts, and lots more
are on the schedule. And don't
forget the Chuck Wagon!
